Sometimes holidays can add undue stress when you have to travel the distance. With relaxation and leisure as our main objective, what better way to get away than a staycation at the Four Seasons Hotel Westlake Village. Though only a short drive outside of Los Angeles’s main city center, The Four Seasons Westlake Village is an oasis surrounded by beautiful gardens and the Santa Monica Mountains for adventures nearby. My adventure with Ashley Bard and Bard + Paul, however, led us straight to the glistening pool and the tranquil spa — I’ll save my hiking boots for another day, thank you very much.
I love the hotel’s colorful cabanas suited perfectly for lounging and sipping delicious cocktails in our equally vibrant Jolyn bathing suits. We were so thrilled to collaborate with Jolyn for our Four Seasons staycation, and love how their swimwear is both athletic and feminine, practical and stylish all at once. And bonus fact: Ashley’s pink one-piece was designed in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month – clever design, great cause!
One of the highlights of our experience was our massages at the Spa and Wellness Center. I do not jest when I claim this was the BEST massage I’ve had in years if not ever. My swollen climber muscles were rolled out like fluffy dough during my deep tissue massage, and Ashley’s Swedish rub-down transported her to a new state of soulful bliss. The spa offers tranquil hot tubs and other nice touches and amenities to add to the experience, only one more reason to stay a little longer.
Yet with tummies grumbling, we found our way back to our cabana for a delicious and healthy poolside lunch – I especially loved their Garden and Tomato Burrata Salad! We teamed up with Elara Blue for the perfect poncho for occasions such as gorging your lunch like ladies or peacefully walking through gardens. These hand-dyed, natural indigo garments are uniquely custom-made and offer just the right amount of cover with a bohemian flare!
On a final note, no one captures moments with such style, story and imagination like my dear friend, creative muse and photographer, Dana Tarr. As always we are indebted to his brilliance. I also want to thank Erin Bina from the Four Seasons Hotel Westlake Village for taking such good care of us and inviting us to experience the ultimate Los Angeles staycation. My final thanks goes to Angela Paul for her support and fabulous styling for the shoot.
